KISS ME, KISMET
2022
The mouth utters the word, the sign and the symbol. - Carl Jung
In a world blurred by AI, what remains deeply human is our unconscious; the way we project, interpret, and assign meaning.
This 15 part self-portrait series on explosive femininity invites personal interpretation. What we see is what we want to see. Meanwhile, AI shouts: *NO FACE DETECTED*; *THIS IMAGE MAY CONTAIN EXPLICIT CONTENT*.
Guided by my “spirit artists extraordinaires” - Georgia O’Keeffe, who magnified flowers so we’d truly see them, and Agnès Varda, who believed people contain landscapes - I cropped my own body into forms that evoke inner terrains.
Women’s bodies have long been seen through the eyes of others. This is a quiet rebellion. A surreal reclamation. A poetic act of sovereignty over the eyes and I’s kismet gifted me.
