The sea is the favorite symbol for the unconscious, the mother of all that lives. – Carl Jung
Mirrors have long held mythic, symbolic, and even magical power. In both Eastern philosophy and Jungian psychology, the mirror often symbolizes water—like the sea—reflecting both the outer world and the inner self.
Rooted in this idea, To Sea It Through is raw, unmanipulated portrait series, where the sea becomes the observer, exploring how this liquid looking-glass sees me. As my likeness dissolves and drifts, what remains is a quiet oneness -an image of the intangible self. A dialogue between two bodies of water: myself and the sea.
The results, untouched and organic, verge on the Dalí-esque, suggesting that perhaps the surrealists were simply revealing a reality unseen by most. It echoes my guiding belief: there is nothing more surreal than reality itself.
